Yammer will soon get its own tab in Microsoft Teams!

Exciting news from the Office 365 Roadmap. Feature 31502 will bring a dedicated, built-in tab for Yammer to Microsoft Teams. Details are thin on the ground at the moment because the feature is still in development, with an estimated release date of Q4 2018.

It’s likely that the tab will show up here, when you click the plus button within a channel to add a new tab:

When to use Teams, When to use Yammer (When to use Email)

If you’re thinking that Teams replaces Yammer and that this is an unnecessary integration, then hopefully this graphic will help position Yammer and Teams within your organistion:

As you can see, being able to start something in Teams and then involve the rest of the company using Yammer is a natural progression, so it absolutely makes sense for Teams to have an easy way to make that happen.
