Using Microsoft Teams as a developer: new tooling coming soon!

Using Microsoft Teams as a developer: new tooling coming soon!

In a recent blog post, Microsoft announced some new tooling for Microsoft Teams aimed specifically at developers:

Microsoft Teams Jira Integration

If you’re a Jira user, then you’ll soon be able to add a new tab to your channel. The tab will enable you to display issues from any project in  JIRA ServiceDesk, JIRA Core or JIRA Software.

Microsoft Teams Bitbucket Integration

For Bitbucket users, coming soon is a Bitbucket Cloud tab showing pull requests for any repository you work with.

Microsoft Teams GitHub Integration

Developers will soon be able to add a special GitHub channel tab, showing issues and pull requests for any repository you work with, as well as a personal tab showing a personalized view of issues and pull requests across all your repositories.

Microsoft Teams TFS Integration

This wasn’t announced recently but is something you can already do today. I’m including it here as a reminder. If you use Visual Studio Team Services then make sure to add both the VSTS Connector and Kanban Tab to Teams. There’s a good write-up of how to do this on the Microsoft Docs site.
