New Workshop: Hands-on with Microsoft Teams App Templates (October, UK)

I’m excited to tell you about a brand-new workshop I’m going to be running with Stuart Ridout (Microsoft) at South Coast Summit in September.

We’ve heard all the feedback about Microsoft Teams App Templates, and we want to amplify the great success people are having using them whilst also addressing some questions about how to extend and customise them for your own use.

Workshop Title: Building and Extending Microsoft Teams Apps
Abstract: App Templates for Microsoft Teams are complete app examples, built by Microsoft and community contributions, open-source and extensible.
In this all-day workshop we’ll show you how you deploy, configure and then extend app templates.
The first half will focus on deployment and configuration: helping you to deploy the Company Communicator app in your own tenant (or a demo tenant) so you can see for yourself how quickly you can be up and running.
The second half will concentrate more on extending the Company Communicator app and will be a technical deep dive into how to add additional functionality to the existing code base.
Bring keys to a tenant, your laptop, and together we’ll help your organisation communicate more effectively!

This workshop is ideal for a developer who already has some experience with using App Templates, but equally if you’re an IT Admin who hasn’t touched them before you’ll get a lot out of the first part of the day (and I hope you’ll still find the second part interesting to see what’s possible). I’m really looking forward to a day of working with you as we get code running in your environment and then configure it.

It’s a full day on October 15th (8am-5:30pm) and is being run as part of South Coast Summit, registration for which is now open. South Coast Summit itself is a FREE event, but this workshop is a paid extra. Because the workshop happens the day before the Summit I’m sure there will be some time in the evening for networking and catching up as well 🙂
